Recently off of the mission field in Peru, Craig and Tracie Nanna moved to Reading, PA with their young family in December of 1995 with a vision to start a multi-cultural church that would reach nations. They carried a conviction to see the church follow the relational model of the New Testament church, built on a relationship with Jesus, in relationship with one another through small groups, and spreading this same love to the world around us (Acts 2:42-47). For a year, they met as a small group in a health and fitness club in Temple, a suburb of Reading. As the power of the gospel began to change lives, this small group grew and was established as a church in 1997, under the oversight of DOVE International, a family of over 1000 churches around the world (go to www.dcfi.org).
In 2003, it became clear that it was time to move as we outgrew our “upper room” in Temple, and with a desire to move into center city Reading to be a part of Reading’s revival. Then known as Reading DOVE Christian Ministry Center, we reached out to many in various locations throughout the city before we acquired our own property on 621 Centre Avenue that is now called the Transform Ministry Center. This property has become a hub of transformation in the city of Reading and as TransformChurch, we have become a church not only in the city, but FOR the city. Because of our growth as a church, we began to gather at the Reading IMAX Theatre in 2017, and now we are expanding at our Centre Avenue property with multiple Sunday morning services. We rejoice in this growth, but our greatest joy is that lives are being transformed by the power of Jesus Christ.
